Slaughter

Many turkeys arrive at the slaughterhouse with broken bones, severe bruises, and wounds. There they are hung upside-down by their sensitive legs, which are forced into metal shackles. They are often still conscious and struggling to escape when their throats are slit, and some are still conscious when they’re dumped into scalding-hot water for feather removal.
