Factory Farms This picture shows two of the 100 million pigs killed in the U.S. for their flesh each year. They will be castrated and will have their ears notched without the use of painkillers, and they will be drugged to keep them alive and growing in conditions that would otherwise kill them. Deprived of everything that is natural to them, pigs in today's factory farms will spend their lives in cramped metal pens inside filthy sheds. |
