Dead Birds
A dead duck lies abandoned and unnoticed in a pen. The foie gras industry uses pipes to pump enormous quantities of grain and fat into birds' stomachs. This force-feeding is done to make the birds' livers become bloated and diseased; the birds are then killed, and their livers are sold as foie gras. However, the hideously cruel force-feeding causes many birds to die before they even reach the slaughterhouse. |
