After they are unloaded, cows are forced through a chute and a metal bolt is shot through their brain; the technique often fails to render them insensible to pain because lines are moving so quickly and workers are often poorly trained. This cow has been hung upside-down by his back legs and will have his throat cut while he is still conscious and bellowing in pain.
