Dairy Farms

Cows raised for milk spend their lives in cramped sheds and fenced-in enclosures, mired in their own waste. They are drugged up so that almost half are lame and are forced to produce so much milk that between 30 and 50 percent suffer from painful udder infections at any given time. It is not an exaggeration to say that the cows raised for milk in the U.S. are sick and diseased.
